Hominid Death Trap

What is now a small hole in the ground may have once been a large cave that was a deathly lure for many different animals. The bones of a hominid boy found in the cave have an interesting number and pattern of breaks that indicate a large fall caused his death. Both of the boy’s arms were broken in a way that shows that he fell a number of meters to the ground and attempted to buffer his fall with his arms. The bones of many other animals were found in the area as well, leading scientists to believe that creatures were attracted to this dangerous cave for water. Though many humans today do not know what it is like to go without water, these bones exemplify the dangerous and drastic things that animals will do to survive.
